Shirin Straßner

Shirin had her first yoga class more than 15 years ago in Thailand with an almost 90-year-old teacher who immediately infected her with her passion for yoga. Since then, yoga has become an integral part of her life. Her regular yoga practice supports Shirin to deal with everything that is opening up to her on the inside as well as on the outside. Also, it helps her to remain flexible in the constantly changing circumstances of the modern world. From 2017-2019, Shirin completed her yoga teacher training at Yoga Sky Berlin, with Detlev Alexander and Nancy Jovanovic as main teachers.

In addition to being a yogi, Shirin is also a certified Life Coach. Her knowledge and experience in Life Coaching greatly influence her yoga classes. Drawing from her coaching background, Shirin creates a supportive and empowering space for her students, encouraging them to explore not only the physical aspects of yoga but also to use the practice to learn something about themselves and cultivate a positive mindset.

Classes

vinyasa – EN

In her classes, Shirin wants to create a safe space where her students can get into contact with their own selves again. Her classes are characterized by a mindful, calm, yet powerful flow with creative movement sequences. The practice also offers enough room to feel inwards and to perceive and expand own inner spaces. And above all, it should also be fun.

prenatal yoga – EN

This course is designed for expectant mothers who wish to consciously take time for themselves and their growing baby. All practices are carefully adapted to the needs of pregnancy, offering a balanced combination of deep relaxation and gentle strength-building. We will explore movements that create space in the pelvis, open the chest and upper back, stabilize the spine, and strengthen the legs and arms. You will also learn to connect with your pelvic floor—both engaging it with awareness and, just as importantly, releasing it. Breathing practices are an integral part of the class, supporting emotional and mental balance while gently preparing you for the process of letting go during birth. Beyond the physical practice, the course offers space for meaningful connection with other expectant mothers—a supportive community to accompany you through this special time.

postnatal yoga + baby – EN

This postnatal yoga class is designed for new mothers who wish to reconnect with their bodies after giving birth. The gentle yoga practice supports your recovery, helps your body’s natural healing process, and guides you to regain strength and a sense of grounding. Together, we’ll mindfully strengthen the pelvic floor and abdominal muscles in a safe, structured way. We’ll also focus on supporting your back and legs to create more stability, ease, and fresh energy for everyday life with your baby. The class is thoughtfully designed and no previous yoga experience is needed. Your baby is warmly welcome to join you in class. Whether your little one is sleeping, feeding, observing, or exploring the room – everything is perfectly fine. The atmosphere is relaxed and understanding, allowing you to pause, care for your baby, and continue in your own rhythm whenever you’re ready. You can start postnatal yoga from around 8 weeks after birth, alongside your recovery program or anytime afterward. Fathers are welcome. However, the yoga practice is specifically designed for the postnatal female body.
